LH (Luteinizing Hormone)
A hormone secreted by the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland that in the female stimulates ovulation and the development of corpora lutea and in the male the development of interstitial tissue in the testis. This tests the level of LH in the body.
FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone)
A follicle-stimulating hormone test measures the amount of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in a blood sample. FSH is produced by the pituitary gland. This test measures the amount of FSH that is being produced in the the body.
Prolactin test measures the level of the hormoneprolactin, which is made by the pituitary gland, in your blood. Prolactin levels are different throughout the day. The highest levels occur during sleep and shortly after you wake up.
