Sed Rate (Sedimentation Rate)

Sedimentation rate (sed rate) blood test measures how quickly red blood cells (erythrocytes) settle in a test tube in one hour. The more red cells that fall to the bottom of the test tube in one hour, the higher the sed rate.

Rheumatoid Factor

ANA (Antinuclear Antibodies)

Antinuclear antibodies (ANAs) are unusual antibodies, detectable in the blood, that have the capability of binding to certain structures within the nucleus of the cells.

Uric Acid

A Lyme disease antibody test is used to determine if you have been infected with Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacterium that causes Lyme disease. Lyme disease antibody tests are conducted with a routine blood draw.

  • The ferritin test measures the level of ferritin, the major iron storage protein in the body.
  • The ferritin test is a simple blood test.
  • High levels of ferritin can indicate an iron storage disorder, such as hemochromatosis, or a chronic disease process.
  • Low levels of ferritin are indicative of iron deficiency, which causes anemia (a reduction in the number of red blood cells).
